Its been an eventful, exciting year with many new successes.
We won the Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Awards for Music and two of the directors won the Cheshire West Inspirational Teacher Award and Best Head Teacher Award for their work with arts in schools in Cheshire.
We were incredibly fortunate and grateful to have support and sponsorship from MBNA, The Philip Barker Creative Centre, Oliver and CO, Lumisi, Ursula Key Trust, and Recognition Express.
We ran many successful workshops in art, music, drama and dance collaborating with amazing arts specialists Andy Smith, House of Dance, Una Meehan and Dave Wearing. We created beautiful brand new unique songs in aid of Dementia UK called “ Once upon a time” and “ Be Happy” for Young Minds UK.
We had 3 sell out performances at Storyhouse where over 1000 children came and sang/ performed their hearts out in aid of Dementia UK, Young Minds UK and Chester Zoo. We raised money for these charities in our shows and also adopted the Orangutan family at Chester Zoo for the year. Through the projects over 800 children gained Arts Award Discover level, 50 teachers become Arts Advisors and 34 schools have gained Artsmark registration status which is supporting the Local Cultural Education Partnership and Cheshire West and Chester to gain Artsmark Borough which we hope to achieve in 2020.
Feeling very excited for our new project AmaSing Fusion 2020. 120 schools will be taking part in art, music, dance, drama, and poetry collaborating together, celebrating diversity, difference and being unique. We will be performing in 2 new venues The William Aston Hall with Wrexham and Flintshire schools and The Floral Pavilion with schools from the Wirral. We are delighted to also be hosting 5 nights at Storyhouse for 2020 with 65 Cheshire schools taking part this year.
Tickets for shows are on sale now and it is sure to be an AmaSing night!
We can’t wait to see what happens so watch this space.
