During lockdown in the COVID 19 pandemic children from the UK and abroad have created an original song during AmaSing online composing workshops led by composer Andrew J Smith and have created a beautiful inspirational song called ” Not All Heroes Wear Capes” They have dedicated it to all the key workers who have worked tirelessly keeping everyone safe during the COVID 19 pandemic. A film has been made with many children at home, in school bubbles and key workers from hospitals, fire service, schools etc singing the song. The film also includes many images of key workers and children in super hero costumes. We hope this song and film will bring a smile to everyones face and celebrate the wonderful work key workers everywhere do for us all. All proceeds will go to our allocated charity The Countess of Chester Hospital supporting their Intensive Care Units, Blue Skies Balcony Appeal which is dedicated to establish and build a garden balcony on the Intensive Care Unit so that poorly patients can benefit from the outdoors in a safe and infection free, controlled environment. All patients, their visitors and staff are set to benefit from this innovative improvement that will make it easier and safer to move patients outside with no loss of space to the existing unit which opened in 2014. Physiotherapy will be done on the balcony, it will help combat “Delirium” where patients experiences mental confusion and emotional disruption and it will also support patients to re-connect with the outside world after spending weeks/ months indoors. This form of therapy is proven to make a. dramatic difference and help patients recovery programme and huge community support is needed for this to happen so please help and support this worthy cause.
