On 16th July AmaSing hosted our very first AmaSing Awards Evening! Over 100 children from different local primary schools were nominated by their teachers to receive an award for their amazing contributions to creative arts.

This event celebrated children in schools who have taken part in our projects and been superstars trying their best in what they do, showing commitment to arts, showing kindness, team spirit and being amazing creative ambassadors for schools. Some of our awards categories included;

The Dedication Award. “For showing excellent dedication within class. Always giving maximum effort and extraordinary work ethic.”

The Positivity Powerhouse Award. “For being a positive role mode, bringing lots of energy and always facing challenges with a smile.”

The Incredible Innovator Award. “For rising to creative challenges, always thinking outside the box and showing excellent promise as a visionary in the arts.”

A special award was presented to Maple Grove School Staff during the evening, “The Claire Graham Kindness Award” at our first ever AmaSing Award events in memory of the wonderful Claire who did so much for everyone she met. AmaSing is incredibly lucky to work with this incredible school and the staff who work tirelessly to look after and care for their pupils in such a warm and friendly environment.

Our fantastic Youth orchestra led by Musical Director Simon Cowan performed alongside professional musicians and entertained everyone with some of our original music which has been written by children and communities in our projects. Renditions of show songs got the youngsters on their feet singing and dancing along as well as popular chart bops they have worked incredibly hard learning.

The evening was filled with laughter and music and our sweet treat table and rainbow photo wall was a huge hit with the attendees.

The Amasing Awards were also a Charity Fundraiser for the charity MIND who we have been collecting for in memory of Claire at our shows this year. Our grand raffle prize to win a music workshop worth £250 was bagged by a fantastic student at St Theresa’s Primary School and we are delighted to have raised £1000 for Mind from both our shows and Awards evening.

Thank you to all our sponsors who supported the event we couldn’t have done it all without you and to all the AmaSing Team for all their hard work.
